From the Object to the World – Inhotim Collection

Brand identity and signage for the first external exhibit of Inhotim Institute’s collection, in 2014.






In 2014, part of Inhotim’s collection left the Art Center’s premises to integrate the Institution’s first external exhibit. The show, which had its opening in Belo Horizonte’s Palácio das Artes and Centro de Artes Contemporânea e Fotografia, was also exhibited at Itáu Cultural, in São Paulo, before returning to Inhotim, where it was placed in the Mata Gallery.






The identity created was anchored in the exhibit’s concept, which featured important modernist and concretist works. The result is an identity with a typographic style, which sought to make the name function not only as a set of words, but as shape, as presence, and as object. The black and white color palette gives neutrality to the editorial design against the colors of the exhibit’s works.






The language-derived graphics not only filled the exhibit’s promotional material, but also signaled the external area of the exhibition spaces in Belo Horizonte. In addition, the project included the exhibit’s internal signage, as well as the visitors’ guide leaflet.
